GRS Densitometers for Education Program
GRS is pleased to announce the continuation of our GRS Densitometers for Education Program. Since 2009, GRS has been providing GRS Densitometers to qualified academic institutions for reduced cost or no-cost. As of 2014 GRS has provided the GRS Densitometer to over 30 academic institutions in six of the seven continents of the world.
Academic institutions are invited to Contact GRS to determine eligibility for this program. This program is open to all academic institutions that want to integrate the use of GRS Densitometer for vegetation cover estimation in their curriculum or use this sampling tool in studies or research.
The GRS Densitometer is a hand-held tool used to determine cover while implementing the line-point or line-intercept transect methods of vegetation/landscape feature cover estimation. GRS Densitometers are used around the globe for sampling vegetation cover and characteristics. It can also be used to assist in the sampling and measurement of above ground characteristics such as crown diameter, drip-line, intercept, crown density, and crown cover.
