This self-extracting zip file contains a Windows Mobile version of TransIn along with sample settings and parameter files from GRS's Redwood National Park Vegetation Classification and Mapping Project.

First unzip the zip file and then read the readme file contained in the zip file.  Follow the readme file instructions to transfer the .cab file to your mobile device and install TransIn on your mobile device.  Sample parameter and setting files are included in the GRSDocumentation directory. A parameter and setting file each specific to your individual project need to be created and loaded under the Setup tab in TransIn before you can start recording field data.

This version of TransIn enables recording of tree dbh, crown diameter, and tree height measurements along with species/feature codes and canopy position for each transect point sampled.  It also includes the capability to record ocular estimates for a sample site/area.

Sample field data collection instructions are included under the Help directory.

Upon running the setup executable in the zip file there will be two directories named DataSamples and Help created.  Sample parameter and setting files are included in the DataSamples directory. A parameter and setting file each need to be loaded under the Setup tab in TransIn before you can start recording field data.

Coming Soon! - a PC version of TransSum which will process data captured using TransIn.  This software requires an inputfile that contains valid species codes and names that correspond to the codes and names used during the data collection efforts.

TransSum generates sample site report information by specific speies and land-cover features, canopy layers, and  tree size classes.
