Download

This download represents a field data collection form used during GRS's field data collection efforts during the Redwood National and State Parks Vegetation Classification and Mapping Project. This form represents the information and formatting programmed into our data collection process TransIn.  For additional information contact Ken Stumpf at GRS.

Download

This file contains the source data used to generate the Sample Transect Report.  These data were collected using the GRS Densitometer to implement the point-transect method of sampling.  These data were collected using a handheld field data collector running TransIn software.  Of course, transect data can also be collected on field data collection forms or spreadsheets.

Sample Transect Summary Report and Data

Download
Download

This download contains a listing of an actual transect implemented during GRS\'s Redwood National Park Landcover Mapping Project and the layer-by-layer report summary of the transect data.  Cover, species composition, quadratic mean diameter, average crown diameter, stems/acre, and surface condition are reported for the top, overtopped, near-ground, on-the-ground, and ground surface layers, as well as in total (all layers summed) and the 'bird's-eye' view layer, as seen from above.
